Gran Turismo for PS1 | Gaming Throwback
Released in 1998 on the PlayStation, it was the most advanced racing game of its time and sold just under 11 million copies worldwide, making it the best selling PS1 game EVER. Gran Turismo allowed every kid take a few spins inside one of the 140 authentic sports cars the game offers, tntil their dad took the controller for a “quick” test drive. Choose between Arcade mode, which has more driving options, or Simulation mode, where you have to earn credit to unlock additional cars and tracks (WITH NO MICROTRANSACTIONS). And this wasn’t like Mario Kart. This sh*t was HARD. Remember, PS1 didn’t have an analog stick. This title took five years to make and won a ton of awards including Game of the Year by MobyGames. To this day, it’s still considered one of the greatest games of all time. Which Gran Turismo title is your favorite? And what should we throwback to next time? Let us know in the comments!
