Lockheed’s Long Range Anti-Ship Missile Will Get Its First Live Test This Year

An executive from the corporation told it plans to do this from an F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Both the Navy and Air Force have contracts for the long range anti-ship missile (LRASM). It's a precision-guided, anti-surface weapon equipped with a 1,000-pound warhead. According to Lockheed, the missile has a range that exceeds 200 nautical miles. It's supposed to be operational by 2019.
